Teens entering Grades 7-12 are encouraged to apply to help with the Children's Summer Reading Program.
Assignments may include - assisting with special programs and staffing the Youth Servies's Book Depot. Volunteers must attend one of three mandatory training sessions. Volunteer applications may be picked-up at the Youth Services Desk. Applications are due by May 24, 2013.+ More Info
Where will reading take you to this summer? The Library has your itinerary ready: your first stop is to pick up your passport and get ready to trot the globe, tour faraway lands and then travel through time by reading during Have Book-Will Travel!
Register in-person or online beginning Monday, June 3. You must have a valid Plainfield Public Library card to join the program. During Registration Week, June 3 to June 6, come to the lower level to register and enter to win first-class prizes donated by area merchants.
Don't worry if you are unable to register that first week, registration runs until July 20. During this nine- week program, children, teens and adults will have the opportunity to win a variety of prizes by going the extra mile. Go to the catalog, log-in with your library card number, choose "Contact Information and Preferences" and scroll down to the Preferences section and check the "Maintain reading list" box.
