Every Tuesday, bring your current project or get ideas from others who share the love of knitting or crocheting. No registration is needed, just drop-in between 1:00-2:30 pm. Beginners are welcome.

Green Village Series - Just the Facts: Understanding Food Labels

This class will help you decode labels and chose safer products to eat. You will also learn about GMOs, sugar substitutes and organic food choices.

    Building & Expansion Planning Public Q&A Sessions

    Do you have questions about the Library's upcoming referendum that is on the March 15 ballot? Library Director Julie Milavec will be hosting several drop-in informational sessions in January and February in the Library's lower level lobby to answer those questions.     Read. Love. Library: 2016 Winter Reading Program

    January 10 to February 14

    Winter reading registration has begun and  continues through February 7. 

    Over the course of this five-week program, simply record what you’ve read either online or on the paper form you receive at registration. Adults read and count books, pages or hours for anything you read for yourself or to the kids, and any books you listen to online or on the go. Prizes for adults include a ceramic soup mug, in addition to new books and gift cards to local restaurants and retailers.* Choose More Info to learn more about the program and events happening throughout Winter Reading.

    The Great Read 2016: Made in Illinois

    This year’s community read is all about celebrating the wonderful people, resources, traditions, films, authors and businesses that have made Illinois great. The program runs from Saturday, February 20 through Saturday, April 30, and will begin with a delicious kick-off here at the Library with author Leslie Goddard presenting Chicago's Sweet Candy History on Saturday, February 20 at 2:00 pm.     Tax Time

    Need tax forms, help finding them or simply some information? The Library is only receiving a very small supply of print forms and instructions due to changes with the government distribution system. We can, however, connect you with resources to help, including linking you to downloadable IRS or State of Illinois tax forms or publications.

    Holiday Lights Recycling

    The Library is partnering for the fourth year in a row with Elgin Recycling to offer holiday lights recycling! The Holiday Lights recycling bins are located in front of the Library next to the book returns for your convenience. You can donate at any time, not just during the Library's open hours. Please do not leave lights in front of the building or in the book returns. Collection continues through February 22.
