    What's New at Your Library

    Read for the Win! All Ages Summer Reading Program

    Hop, skip and jump over to the Library this summer to Read for the Win! Adults, teens and kids are encouraged to register for the summer reading program which runs June 6 to August 6. Discover new books as you race to the reading finish line for all of the prizes and glory! Prizes have been partially funded with a donation by the Friends of the Plainfield Library and is restricted to Plainfield Library cardholders.

    Calling All Local Authors

    The very first Indie Author Day is October 8, 2016. The Library is looking for local authors, either self-published or traditionally published, to participate on a panel about your writing and publishing process.     Kona Ice at the Library Every Monday

    June 20 to August 1

    What's better than an ice cold, tasty treat in the middle of the summer? How about a FREE one? 

    The Kona Ice truck will be at the Library every Monday from 10 a.m. to Noon for the duration of the Summer Reading program. Children through Grade 5 will be awarded a FREE kiddie cup by presenting their certificate from the program. Kona will be selling treats, ranging from $3 to $6. Twenty percent of proceeds are generously donated back to the Library for future events.

    Independence Day Closing

    The Library will be closed on Monday, July 4 in observance of Independence Day. Hours for Saturday, July 2 are 9:00 am to 5:00 pm and the Library is closed on Sunday, July 3.

    Cruise Nights- Please Plan Accordingly

    Cruise Nights in downtown Plainfield will happen every Tuesday at 5 p.m. this summer, so plan accordingly if you are making a stop at the Library. Streets will be busy and parking could be difficult. If you plan on attending a Library program or other event on a Tuesday night, please make sure to leave a few minutes earlier than you normally would.
