    Labor Day Closing

    The Library will be closed for Labor Day on Monday, September 7. Regular hours resume on Tuesday, September 8, when the Library opens at 9:00 am. You're welcome to return your items at any time as the book return is always available.

    Friends of the Library Arts and Crafts Fair

    Saturday, September 19, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm

    What a perfect opportunity to shop for one-of-a kind gifts for yourself or others, and get a head start on your holiday shopping. You can browse among dozens of arts and crafts and vendor booths in the Library parking lot and choose a yummy snack from one of the food trucks when you get hungry. On the Friends of the Plainfield Library Facebook Page, you'll find sample photos of items that will be for sale.

    September is Hunger Action Month

    Plainfield is supporting Hunger Action Month  by hosting a food drive to help benefit the local food pantries: Creekside Cares, Green Harvest and the Plainfield Area Interfaith Food Pantry. Please drop off any donations at the library or other locations throughout Plainfield from September 1-30. The donation box will be at the top of the stairs (lobby) on the Library's upper level.

    On Thursday, September 3, in partnership with the Northern Illinois Food Bank, exchange up to $1.00 in fines per non-perishable items you donate. Products like paper towels, diapers, tissues and toilet paper would be greatly appreciated.
