Flu Shot Day!

Get your flu shot and stay healthy this fall and winter season. Representatives from the Walgreens pharmacy staff will administer flu shots from 9:30 am to 11:30 am. Most insurance accepted or cash at $25.99 per shot. First come, first serve basis. No registration needed. Must be 10 years old and up.

Spooktacular

Wear your costumes, pick up a treat and make Halloween crafts at the Library during Spooktacular, the fall signature event of the Plainfield Chamber of Commerce and some of its community partners.  During the afternoon, be sure to visit Trunk or Treat at the Avery YMCA. Donate Your Stuffed Animals

The Plainfield Public Library is collecting stuffed animals for sick children at Rush University Medical Center on behalf of Caley Trepac, a resident who set up the donations to commemorate the second year anniversary of her brain decompression surgery. 

The public is encouraged to bring stuffed animals to the donation box, located in the lower level of the Library. Donations will be accepted until November 16.

Museum Adventure Passes Now Available

Museum Adventure Passes are available now and continue through  2014. For more details, visit the website.  

  • Visit your home library to find out current pass availability. Check-Out Desk staff will be able to check on what is available, and also check out the passes.  Museum Adventure Passes must be checked out using your library card at your home library. Libraries have a limited number of passes for each participating organization, and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Passes cannot be reserved or checked out online or on the phone.
  • One Museum Adventure Pass may be checked out per person, per loan period. The loan period is SEVEN DAYS, and will expire after the date printed on the pass.
  • Admission offers vary per museum. For some, two or four people may be admitted free per pass, or by carload. If admission is free, another special discount will be offered.Passes are for one-time use and are not transferable. Your name will be printed on the pass, and you may be asked to show identification at the museum. The museum will collect the pass when you visit.
  • Check the list of participating museums for details on each cultural destination. Find out what discoveries await you, get directions to the museum, and review each museum's pass entry offer, including any restrictions that may apply.

Library Closed for Staff Training November 7

In order to better serve the community, the Library will be closed on Friday, November 7, to allow for all staff training. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Items can still be returned in the outside book returns. The Library will re-open on Saturday, November 8 at 9:00 am.
