    What's New at Your Library

    Gear Up for Reading: Winter Reading 2015

    The Winter Reading Program is shifting gears and needs you to get those reading cogs spinning! Registration has begun and continues  either online or in person through February 15. Over the course of this six-week program, simply record what you’ve read either online or via the form you receive at registration. Click on the snowflake/gear logo to register on-line or log your reading. The program concludes with a Grand Finale on Sunday, 2/22.

    Make a Difference Volunteer Fair

    Bring your questions and personally talk to over 20 organizations about the ways you can contribute and/or volunteer in the community. This is the perfect time to match your skills, interests and personality with non-profit organizations that may be looking for someone exactly like you.     We've added some new electronics to our collection!  You can now check out one of five new Rokus with your library card. Easy to use and packed with more than 70 preloaded streaming movies (and counting!), you can check out these Rokus for up to a week.

    Holiday Lights Recycling

    The Library is partnering for the third year in a row with Elgin Recycling to offer holiday lights recycling! The Holiday Lights recycling bins are located in the Library's Route 59 parking lot next to the paper recycling bins for your convenience. You can donate at any time, not just during the Library's open hours. Please do not leave lights in front of the building or in the book returns. Collection continues through February 22.

    Short Story Contest for Grades 3 to 5

    The Library is accepting entries for the Annual Short Story Contest for children in Grades 3, 4 and 5 through January 28. Click on More Info for a complete list of the rules and guidelines. On Saturday, Feburary 28 at 10:00 am, all short story contest entrants and their families are invited to a talk by contest judge, author Kevin Luthardt. Short story contest winners will be announced at the end of the program.

As a Champion for Coverage, your Library is here to help. You must enroll by December 15, 2014, for coverage effective January 1, 2015. Open enrollment ends February 15, 2015.
